The main attraction is its beautiful National Parks to enjoy the immense nature and the outdoors. That is why below we detail the National Parks that mark a trend among our visitors.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cave of the Hands ( Cueva de las Manos) Santa Cruz Province<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This cave is one of the most interesting tourist places in Argentina due to its reserve of cave paintings, which are among the oldest artistic expressions of the South American prehistoric peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inscriptions located in a deep canyon of the Pinturas River, in the Argentine province of Santa Cruz, were declared a World Heritage Site and the oldest have been dated to 7350 BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its antiquity, of more than 9000 years, together with that of other deposits found in Chile and Brazil, questions the theory of the late settlement of the American continent that has prevailed in science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were rediscovered in the 19th century by the expert Francisco Moreno and are named after the large number of human hands drawn. Other shapes drawn are star figures, circles, ovals, spirals and silhouettes of animals, especially choiques and guanacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigations determined that the hands were not painted directly on the rocks, but stenciled (made from a template). The most used colors were white, black, red, yellow and ocher, obtained from ground rocks, plants and fruits, and blood and animal fat were used as binders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Palmar Entre Rios National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located on the right bank of the Uruguay River, in the Argentine province of Entre R\u00edos, it has an area of \u200b\u200b8,213 hectares and was declared a RAMSAR site as a wetland of world importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was created in 1966 to protect the yatay palm (Butia yatay), the palm species that grows naturally in the southernmost part of the planet. These palm trees can reach 12 meters in height and ages of up to 400 years. Yatay palm populations have been reduced by deforestation for crops and overgrazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the park’s territory are the ruins of the Calera de Barqu\u00edn, formed mainly by two kilns that were used since the mid-17th century to make quicklime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fauna of the park is made up of \u00f1and\u00fas, ducks, mountain foxes, wild cats, ferrets, river wolves, red lizard and white-fronted blind snake, among other species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park has a visitor center and has camping areas, picnic areas and points to hire excursions on foot, on horseback, by canoe and by boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tierra del Fuego National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a national park of 69,909 hectares, one of the few in Argentina with a maritime coastline. It is located in the province of the same name, in the Isla Grande sector of this remote land that is under Argentine sovereignty. The city of Ushuaia is 12 km away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park is accessible by road (National Route 3), by boat from Ushuaia and by rail on the so-called End of the World Train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a railway line, the southernmost on the planet, that connects the park with the city of Ushuaia and that was previously used to take highly dangerous prisoners from the harsh National Prison of Ushuaia to the work camps that were on land. of the protected area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tierra del Fuego National Park stands out for its exotic flora and fauna, in which the notro flower, the Magellan steam duck, the sea cat, the caranca and the Patagonian black woodpecker stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is open all year round and offers snow sports in winter and hiking, biking and boating in summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aconcagua Peak<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the tourist places of Argentina you cannot miss Aconcagua, the highest peak in America, the Southern and Western hemispheres and all the continents except Asia, with 6960 m.s.n.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is located in the Argentine province of Mendoza, in the center-west of Argentina, in the Limit or Principal mountain range, a sector of the Andes mountain range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was promoted for the first time in 1897 by the Swiss mountaineer Matthias Zurbriggen and the first woman to reach the summit was the French Adriana Bance, in 1940.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Aconcagua there are several ski centers, including Los Penitentes and Vallecitos. The Los Penitentes center has more than 20 slopes with different degrees of difficulty and excellent quality snow and is used as an accommodation base to climb the mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ski season runs from June to August and the center is suitable for skiers of all levels (advanced, intermediate and beginner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
